Patricia “Trish” Lynn Holdren

Patricia “Trish” Lynn Holdren, 62, left her earthly home on August 27, 2024 and is now in paradise in the arms of Jesus, reunited with her mother.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Jeanette Holdren, and is survived by four siblings: Suzanne (Roger) Williams; Kim (Kris) Dixon; Rick (Jennifer) Holdren; and David (Melissa) Holdren. She leaves behind a loving legacy, which is embraced by nieces and nephews, as well as beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She defied the odds her entire life and was more than just exceptional. She was intelligent, funny, fiercely loyal, quick to forgive, and freely shared her love and heart. Quick to crack a joke at inappropriate times, quick to tell you she loved you, and quick to give you the biggest, most genuine smile that could change the course of your day. Her smile left an indelible mark on everyone. She touched so many lives throughout her life, and the domino effect that came from knowing her spirit was immense. It was hard to get nervous around Trish because she was always cracking corny jokes and often got so excited before she delivered the punch line.

She loved playing video games and mastered them very quickly, always wanting new ones. She loved talking on the phone and never met a stranger. She loved singing church hymns and had a beautiful alto voice. Throughout her youth and adulthood, Trish spent countless hours recording church hymns and constantly rewinded the tape recorder to sing along. Alabama, The Judds, and Chuck Wagon Gang were some of her favorites.

Trish had one flaw, and that was that she was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Her room was often loudly decorated in blue and silver, with stars everywhere. Trish believed in the Cowboys and believed they would win every year.

Her determined spirit never wavered. She was brave to the very end, caring more for the well-being of others than herself. Her light will live on in those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind countless fragments of her spirit in her surviving siblings, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends at Rhea of Sunshine.

Do something nice for Trish. Call someone to say hi, how are you, love you, or tell a stupid joke, of which Trish had many: “What do you call a deer with no eyes? … I don’t have any deer.” And when asked how she was feeling, she always answered, “With her hands.”

A faithful servant of the Lord, Trish’s spirit now joins the angels in heaven. We were truly blessed to have known and loved such a wonderful and compassionate sister, aunt, and friend. With gratitude for the light Trish brought into our lives and the echoes of love she left behind, we honor and remember her forever.

Huge thanks to the staff at 329 and the entire Rhea of Sunshine family for all the love and support you have given Trish over the last seven years. We will never be able to thank you enough for caring for her and loving her like your own!

The family would also like to thank the staff at Rhea County Medical Center for showing Trish such great love and care.

A celebration of Trish’s beautiful life will be held on September 14th at 11:00 AM at Luminary Cemetery in Ten Mile, Tennessee.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Rhea of Sunshine of Dayton, Tennessee in Trish’s memory.
